Who we are
Fundación Cuenca Viva was started by the families and communities around Lago General Carrera to widen the educational, cultural and learning opportunities open to the children and young people growing up here.
We work with the school communities of Puerto Guadal, Puerto Bertrand and Mallín Grande, building networks and bringing initiatives together so that new and lasting experiences reach the area.
Our mission
To identify and create new learning opportunities for children and young people around Lago General Carrera, treating the area as a unique source of experience, knowledge and possibility.
We work with schools, families, organisations and local people so children can explore, create, discover and broaden their horizons, drawing on the knowledge of the community and on new opportunities that connect their home with the wider world.
Living in Patagonia doesn't limit the opportunities to learn and grow.
